IMC goes green with Turbex 08/03/2007

aqueous degreasing A Turbex degreasing and phosphate system has been installed in the new IMC premises at Wrexham.

IMC, a leading manufacturer of commercial bar and catering equipment, selected the Turbex machine as part of a host of environmentally friendly manufacturing initiatives.

The new machine, from Turbex’s ‘AC’ range, has three integral heated tanks and also an intermediate cold rinse stage. The three heated processes are detergent washing, phosphating, and rinsing. All the stages are supplied by strategically located spray nozzles mounted on rotating spray bars and the system treats both steel and aluminium components.

The machine's plc control system enables the operator to set up and select a number of different process requirements. For example IMC sometimes use the machine for degreasing only and sometimes for degrease and phosphate.

To select the most useful machine size, and to establish the optimum process, IMC visited the Turbex Cleaning Technology Centre where trials were undertaken with production parts in a Turbex three tank multi-stage spray cleaning machine. This machine is one of a dozen different spray and ultrasonic cleaning machines installed in the Turbex showroom where tests regularly take place to assist potential customers in process and equipment selection.
