Waterjet Group goes for seventh Bystronic water jet profiler 12/06/2006

The Waterjet Group has placed an order for its seventh Bystronic water jet machine.

The Group is one of the UK’s largest abrasive water jet companies, has sites in Basildon and in Normanton (West Yorkshire), and has ordered Byjet unit for its Basildon site.

With a strong presence in the aerospace sector, much of the work for the aerospace industry is carried out at the Basildon site. The company notes that the increasing costs of titanium and alloys such as Haynes 240 and aluminium of various types and thicknesses have encouraged these customers to move their production onto waterjet from routing or plasma and machining. Sheet utilisation can be up to 20 per cent improved.
