1000th Hawk delivered 15/05/2008

Vision Engineering has delivered its 1000th Hawk non-contact measuring system.

The system has been dispatched to Cryovac, Paris, France, a world leader in fresh food packaging and a long-standing customer of Vision Engineering. Cryovac is using the system to measure packaging film.

The Hawk range offers a wide range of configurations: different stage sizes; microprocessors for different reporting and measurement needs; various illumination options including LED as standard with substage and episcopic illumination; macro or micro magnification up to x1000; video and/or optical measuring solutions; optional accessories including image capturing capabilities.

Steve Marsh, international metrology manager, Vision Engineering, said: “ We have a wide range of customers from the individual users to large number of blue chip companies that utilise the Hawk worldwide, and they all stress how important it is in their quality procedures for checking high accuracy components, often down to very tight tolerances.

“We have seen a lot of changes in the system, now incorporating video edge detection, so our customers can measure their components utilising both optical and video measurement within the same measurement routine. Now with LED illumination, we are always looking for ways to improve the systems and we hope in the near future the Hawk systems will provide many more companies with the non-contact measurement solutions they require”.
