New director for Pratt Burnerd and Crawford Collets 14/11/2007

Pratt Burnerd International and Crawford Collets have appointed David Tucker (pictured) as their new director/general manager, following the retirement of Peter Simms.

Mr Tucker joins the UK manufacturing companies, which share a factory in Halifax (West Yorkshire), and where over £600,000 has recently been invested in additional plant and equipment, including a Webster and Bennett vertical turning lathe and a Mazak FH8800 horizontal machining centre.

“Leading these companies into the future is an exciting and interesting challenge," Mr Tucker said. " Both companies have solid reputations, comprehensive and innovative product ranges, capable manufacturing and stable finances. My task is to develop their recognised strengths and ensure the workholding systems they each manufacture are industry-standards throughout the world. They had a very successful EMO, attracting enquiries from around the world for both standard and special workholding systems and have both MACH and IMTS to look forward to”.

Mr Tucker has a lifetime of manufacturing behind him. He was most recently employed as managing director of one of the largest manufacturers of industrial spray nozzles and spraying systems, based in Sheffield, and prior to that gained experience at a glass manufacturing company (the largest in Europe) and also a company manufacturing equipment for the packaging industry.
