Open House delivers the business for Hardinge 08/11/2007

Hardinge took machine tool orders valued at over £550,000 at its ‘Next Generation’ Open Houselast month.

The three-day event drew over 240 visitors to Hardinge’s UK Leicester facility. ‘The Open House has been a huge success,” said David Andrew, sales & marketing director. “In addition to the high number of visitors attending the event – some 46 sales leads were also generated and these are being actively followed up by our sales staff now.

‘The real icing on the cake though were the seven machine tool orders worth over £550,000 that we took over the three days – and the subsequent six machine tool orders taken within a five-day period at the end of the event.”

Continued David Andrew: ‘There was significant interest amongst visitors in the new technology we launched at EMO in September. Our new 5-axis machine, the XR 600 5AX was a real crowd puller – and the 5-axis simultaneous machining demonstration we ran on this machine was truly impressive.

“Similarly well received were our RS-series turning centres. The RS 42 machine integrated with a Motoman robot and our ultra-high performance RS 51 MSY had a great reception – and, one of the orders we took during the three days was for a RS 51 MSY.”
